Dear Mr. Brokaw; First, let me say, that you have been a part of my life for so long that I cant even remember when you werent. Im a huge fan of yours. I am sorry to hear that you will be leaving as anchor of NBC News in 2 years. When Walter Cronkite, polled to be the most trusted man in America, retired from the CBS News anchor position, you were handed the mantle of truth. You have become an icon in America, you represent the reporting of fact as well as objective journalism and wisdom. (And I do not say that in any way to take away from the excellence of your peers). All of these things comprise the reason I am sad to have to inform you of the BOYCOTT of NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC and their sponsors with the probable expansion to products and associates of your parent companies. Now, as I've expressed to you, and I am assuming you got my messages, I have no desire to suggest that you or NBC are the only people and entities who have any responsibility for what occurred in the Election of 2000. Nor do I wish to harm your reputation. But the people of the United States depend on the journalists of this country to keep them informed. And with that, I feel I need not say more. Because you and everyone else who reads this letter knows what I'm talking about. And so, Mr. Brokaw, I am writing to you because, given your position as an icon of truth in America I have a request about what should not have required requesting. Please tell America the truth. This isnt about you or me or Al Gore or George Bush. This is about America, this is about Democracy. This is about you, Tom. And I'm asking you to give something to it. To give us the truth, in repayment for our loyalty and the trust we've placed in you. I don't really believe that's too much to ask. Sincerely, Charles Rehn
