Democratic Fundamentalism (see What the Words Mean) Sometimes, it seems like we need to remind representatives that in America, the government is for the protection and benefit of citizens, not corporations. Of the people, by the people, for the people. To incorporate is a privilege granted by the people. People are not a privilege granted by the corporations. It doesn't seem that our leaders agree. And corportions should not vae legal rights like people. Power corrupts. That's why the authors of the U.S. Constitution were so careful to include checks & balances to protect Americans from the corrupting influence of wealth on government. Honoring that intent means having leaders who respect it, not defy and subvert it. They say we are a nation of laws, I say, we are a nation of loopholes. And our nation is being damaged because of it. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. We are now at a juncture where new legislation will suppress free speech and civil rights, take away the obligation of government workers, in fact, penalize them, for speaking up when they discover corruption and abuse. And there's a man trespassing in the White House calling for transparency of process form Corporations, Cuba, Yasser Arafat, Democrats and Carlyle Group competitors. He just accepted $100,000 from MCI Worldcom at the RNCC Fundraiser that raised $30million. The same man gave a speech in Florida on May 20, 2002 and challenged Fidel Castro to hold free elections, and, in his own words "listen to the voices of the people and count their votes". We have energy policy carefully crafted to aid companies like Enron who apparently can't even succeed when the government has stacked the chips in their favor, even having threatened military action to assist them in achieving their financial and territorial goals. The government won't tell us what long range plans they're making for us... but they reserve the right to see what library books we check out. To spy on us at public events & organizational gatherings. All the tricks used in the Vietnam War area to disrupt anyone who criticized the government. And now, in the Homeland Security Bill, they want Total Information Awareness... to track your actions. Of course they can provide a plausible excuse for its implementation now. The problem is, what will they use it for later? You might have noticed, they're also not interested in anyone's input. Especially on the suspension of habeas corpus for United States Citizens (the right to a fair and speedy trial with representation). But they will arrest a protester for minor acts of civil disobedience (protesting too loud too long) and charge them with racketeering. And now, for the purpose of Homeland security, they want to give us a secret investigative agency that deosn't have to report it's activities and seeks to strip federal protections for government employees, "whistle blowers", who report corruption. The pardigm was used before. It was the SS. The leader was Hitler. This guy Bush says "It would be a heck of alot easier if it was a dictatorship." No kidding. The United States has survived wars, presidential scandals, spies, bombs, Watergate, assassinations... and the only times we have suspended liberty in the name of self-preservation... were times we later acknowledged to be mistakes. We also came out fine, stronger... until now. Music Mix We impeached an incredibly productive and effective President for lying about sex in the oval office... but how do you impeach a man who wasn't elected? And his second, or boss, depending on your view of Dick Cheney. Democratic Fundamentalism is about keeping the will of the people alive. It is about disallowing the government from slipping in a new form of government behind our backs under the guise of "knowing what's best for the paupers". We are not paupers or serfs. We own this land. WE own this land. We give them permission. If the government was working for us, how could they possibly loosen accounting controls on corporations like Worldcom and Enron and then expect us to believe that abandoning the social security system is in our best interest? The odds are better in Vegas. It's just the government's way of not having to deal with the needs of the citizens. Too time consuming. Not enough money in it. It's alot more fun to fly expensive drone spy planes and wreak havoc on Iraq. It leaves more time to glorify themselves, and be less accountable for honoring anything but their responsibilities as set forth in the Constitution. "Blame it on the corporations. They're my excuse for not doing MY job." Again, that's where Democratic Fundamentalism comes in. Holding our leaders to the intent of the Constitution, not just the letter of the law that allows them to pass legislation to escape culpability. Not just the gray areas of this nation of loopholes. Our Constitution has not changed. The government's commitment to honor it has. We intend to show them that the American People can and will oppose the government, demand compliance, and prevail, as the Constitution requires us to do as citizens. There are more ways to vote than using a ballot. The world looks to us as the example of the best of the best, the way it should be. Only it's not that way. Let's not fail ourselves, and them, and surrender Democracy to corporate interests and politicians seeking personal gain. Where do YOU fit in, what you can do?

Why Americans Will NEVER get over the 2000 Election. The REAL Bush Doctrine The differences between free trade, free markets & globalization. Part 1. What the WORDS Read the Handbook for From the Memory of A Child The differences between free trade, free markets & globalization are vast One is a natural thing for people to do, one is a generally accepted agreement between communities to do the natural thing conscientiously, and the latter is a method of financial, natural resource, and military domination that characterizes the path of the world today. Globalization is a combination of anarchy & tyrannical brutality that has an achilles heel - easily within our reach. There is no similarity between free markets & globalization. But they are partners. Coming Soon: Citizens' Declaration of Rights Is America in Danger? But, when you read the daily news (see Up to the Minute News), you'll see story after story proving that the U.S. Government has become a "do as we say, not as we do... more... The economic architects of the New World Order say that in a free market, there is no need for government. The question becomes Who is to protect the citizens? According to the Reagonomics trickle-down set, the citizens have to figure that out for themselves, even though we thought we did that over 200 years ago. more on this soon. |
