Why I boycott
MSNBC, CNBC & NBC News
Coming Soon! A letter to Tom Brokaw

I'm one of those people who watches world events and looks for patterns and techniques.  As a radio reporter, magazine assistant editor and radio advertising copy writer, I've had some experience at convincing people to buy products that aren't what they say they are, and probably don't need.

After a while, it just seemed empty, unfulfilling.. and there was this dishonesty thing. It's weird. People actually believe you.

So, I decided I wouldn't cut those commercials any more.  And I wouldn't frequent a business that did not deliver as promised.  I'm like that.

And, when I'm dissatisfied, I courteously let them know.  And when they act like they don't care, I write a letter to the boss.

I didn't used to do this, I don't like to, but what other recourse do I have?

That said, here's my plan:

Tell as many people as possible about the site so they can tell other people and they can tell other people.

Much more very soon.

SPONSORS: Any correspondence given to us by you in this matter will be considered confidential unless you specify that materials have been provided with full permission of publication on this web site.  We do not wish to villify you.  We simply ask that your company's policies reflect the interests of citizens like us... citizens like you.

We have a few designations for the companies who do or have advertised on MSNBC, CNBC and NBC News.

littlebluedot.gif (881 bytes) Champions of the People are companies that have advertised on MSNBC or not, but have written to us with permission to post their statements regarding their shared concerns for freedom of speech, fair and accurate media reporting, as well as the use of propaganda under the guise of news to influence public opinion and the outcome of public events.  Companies should not lie to us about this.  If it turns out that they do, we'll contact them to be sure of their policy and to express our concerns.  If it is found they simply did some public relations work on us, they'll be put on the liar's list.

littlebluedot.gif (881 bytes) Sponsors of TV Terrorists - Let's be clear... we are not purporting that these companies are to blame for the "News" content on NBC, MSNBC & CNBC.  We simply ask them to take a closer look at their policies, and understand that the profits they derive from our wallets pay to support yellow journalism, and we think it's inappropriate, and bad for America. It's the same concept as the Bush Administration's... don't spend money on products whose profits support our enemies.  We consider propaganda an enemy.

littlebluedot.gif (881 bytes) Liars & Profiteers -  It's one thing to disagree with us... we respect that... just don't lie to us.  It's very difficult to get off this list.

On the next page is  a complete boycott worksheet I made for myslef. It has all the email addresses, sample letters and other info needed to communicate with the appropriate people. It has saved me hours.  You're welcome to use it.
